The Dirty Girl

A couple weeks ago, I got to do something I've wanted to do for awhile: a mud run.  More specifically, the "Dirty Girl" 5K mud run out of El Paso.  It was the most fun I've had in a long time.

The "Muddy Mamas" before the race, still squeaky clean

Got a kiss from my girl mid-way through the race.  Pretty sure she wanted to join me.

Showing off our legs

One of the obstacles.  Nothing was too difficult...

...Unless you don't like climbing on ropes...

...Or if you're afraid of heights!  Yikes!

My solution: Just do it.  Quickly.

Heading toward the finish line...

One last chance to get dirty!

YEE-HAW!!!

The line for the "showers" (basically a tent with hoses) was about a hundred ladies long by the time we finished, and as I had the hubby and two girls with me, I couldn't wait.  So I used the gallon jug of water we'd brought in the car instead and drenched myself in the dirt parking lot.  And those shoes?  I power-washed them with the garden hose, which got most of the crud off, and then ran them through the washing machine, and they're usable again... for the next race!
