Housing update

We're at Motel 6 for the night. I haven't been able to get online since Thursday, so of course when Brian said he could purchase an access code for three dollars, I got all excited. Anyway, we're at Motel 6 because we're in between residences. When we complained to our landlord about the first place we rented, he felt bad and gave us a good deal on another property in town. It is bigger, newer, and not so run-down. Plus, it has a storage unit out back that we can use. We won't have the great forest for a yard, but there is a stupendous walking/bike path just outside our front door. The electric company wasn't able to hook us up today, and we didn't want to use candles tonight, so we jumped at the opportunity for a dip in the motel pool and junk food out of the vending machines (Ha ha! My sister will understand). We found a 10 X 20 storage unit yesterday and hired four guys to help us fill it up. Once we are totally moved in to the new place, we'll revisit the storage unit to see what we can keep with us and what we really need to get rid of.
On another note: there is a forest fire in the hills just outside Mammoth. We've kept our eyes on the smoke for a couple days now, and yesterday when I drove past, I actually caught a glimpse of the orange flames. Kind of scary!
